| The women of the west have long defined individuality, strength, and capability, while at the same time exuding femininity and romance with their unique style. Their casual elegance inspired the creation of the Western Spirit collection. Jewelry designer, Carolyn Pollack, explains, "I love spending time in our Southwest Spirit Gallery at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. I feel completely at home showing my pride in my boldest western boots, belts, and jewelry! The pieces in this collection were created for those moments." Bold, unique designs reveal a feminine twist with floral, carved gemstones and intricate engravings. |
White mother of pearl and turquoise gemstones are intricately carved with a floral design inspired by the beautiful patterns hand-tooled in western boots and saddles. The floral design is an embossed lost-wax cast technique representing the vivid flowers that have always been a traditional part of festive occasions in Spain, Mexico, and the Southwest. The carved gemstones are framed by a twist rope design, symbolizing strength, loyalty, and eternal friendship and are set in 14K gold or gold vermeil, which is 100 millionths of an inch (2.5 microns) of fine gold over sterling silver.
Western Spirit also features graceful, western scrolls adorning antiqued sterling silver watch tips and buckles. Classic western symbols are the focal point of earrings, pendants, and cufflinks including the star and the horseshoe, celebrating the individuality and spirit that defines the West.

• Since 100% pure silver is extremely malleable and therefore not conducive for jewelry making, other alloys are added to it to make it more durable and less resistant to damage and scratching. .925 sterling silver jewelry is a combination of 92.5% silver and usually 7.5% copper, although the copper is sometimes replaced with another alloy or a combination of alloys. The hallmark of .925 sterling silver on a piece of jewelry ensures the highest quality of silver.
• Gold vermeil, pronounced "ver-MAY", was developed in France in the mid-1700s and entails overplating karat gold onto sterling silver using an electrolytic process. Gold-plated sterling jewelry offers the look of solid high karat gold at an affordable price.
• The "K" of 14K gold stands for karat and, along with the number preceding it, indicates the amount of gold in a piece of jewelry. 24K is 100% gold. Since it's relatively soft, gold is alloyed with other metals, often copper or silver, to give it strength and durability. 14K gold has a gold content of 58.3% or 14 parts gold and 10 parts another metal or metals and is considered a symbol of wealth and power.
• People of the Southwest prized blue turquoise, the heart of Southwestern tradition, as currency, as a talisman of good health, and most importantly as beautiful jewelry. Known as the modern birthstone for December, turquoise is often called the "sky stone" by Southwestern people. It's believed to have healing powers, while promoting spiritual attunement and attracting abundance and prosperity. Several Southwestern states celebrate it as their state stone: Arizona, New Mexico, and Nevada.
• White and pink mother of pearl absorb negative energy and soothe emotional stress. Celebrated as the modern birthstone for June, mother of pearl is the iridescent substance that forms the lining of the shells of some freshwater and saltwater mollusks. |
| The Western Spirit collection makes a bold statement as big as the West itself! Accessorize the western power suit of jeans, a crisp white blouse, or a favorite jacket with these classic pieces that celebrate individuality, while adding a hint of romance with floral, carved designs. Wear the floral, carved gemstone pendant with a strand of turquoise beads or a signature rope chain. Pair the necklace with matching earrings, rings, and bracelets and the Western Spirit look is complete. Classic western symbols take center stage like the mixed metal, star earrings and cufflinks and sterling silver horseshoe with gold vermeil star pendant. The individuality and strength of the western woman shines through in this unique collection. |
