| Tried and true like a perfectly fitted pair of denim jeans, lapis symbolizes friendship with its deep hues of blue. The Southwest Blues sterling jewelry collection celebrates the versatile shades of lapis, as well as the friendship it represents, with genuine stones and unique design elements. |
Traditional sterling silver design techniques showcase the lapis gemstone and strengthen the symbolism of friendship.
Many of the pendants feature genuine lapis surrounded by a twist rope design, believed to be a symbol of strength, loyalty, and friendship. Recreating the look of double twisted wire, the twist rope design became popular in the 1920s in Southwestern jewelry.
The sunray symbol, representing constancy, enhances the twist rope design in several pieces and reflects the ancient method of communication used by the original inhabitants of the Southwest.
Bracelets and necklaces showcase lapis stones with native pearls, domed sterling silver beads that have a stamped concha or floral pattern around the top and bottom. These antiqued concha beads are referred to as "pearls" because of their traditional and classic use in Southwestern jewelry.
Beaded pieces also make an appearance in Southwest Blues, in particular a torsade of lapis beads and nuggets.

• Made in America, the Southwest Blues collection features shades of genuine lapis, the gemstone of friendship and harmony.
• A paler blue variety of lapis lazuli, denim lapis is found in the same places as lazuli: Afghanistan, Argentina, Russia, Chile, and the United States. Denim lapis is the color of denim cloth due to calcite inclusions. It enhances spiritual development and generates mental clarity and emotional healing.
• The deep blue color of lapis lazuli features golden Pyrite inclusions that twinkle like little stars. It was one of the first stones ever to be used and worn for jewelry. Known as the alternative birthstone for September and the traditional birthstone for December, lapis is believed to help overcome depression, insomnia, and vertigo. |
| Just like well-worn denim jeans can always be counted on to fit, lapis pairs beautifully with any wardrobe piece – from pastels to bright, bold colors, neutrals, and of course denim. Consider lapis a friend for all seasons that never disappoints. |
| Care Instructions - Like all fine jewelry, CP SIGNATURE™ jewelry should be handled carefully. Store jewelry in a ziploc bag, dry and wrapped in tissue paper, when not being worn or displayed. Clean sterling silver with a silver polishing cloth when necessary, but never immerse in chlorine, silver dips, chemical solutions, or ultrasonic cleaners, as these substances can cause damage to the gemstones. Never wear jewelry in a chlorinated pool or spa. |
